The University of Chicago’s US-China Forum 2020 explores how China and the United States intersect, interact, and overlap through the arts.
The program offers a rare opportunity to hear from some of the most innovative artists working today and to experience the critical dialogue generated by their work. It features in-depth conversations between renowned artists and distinguished UChicago faculty members, as well as select live performances. Wu Hung, co-curator of The Allure of Matter, delivers the keynote address at 5 pm. Other featured speakers and performers include The Allure of Matter artist Xu Bing, Mel Chin, Wang Lu, Jennifer Iverson, Julie Y. Chu, Mel Chin, The Allure of Matter co-curator Orianna Cacchione, Miao Ying, Bill Brown, Patrick Jagoda, Rachel DeWoskin, and Haun Saussy.
