The Allure of Coloring is a way to experience The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China from the comfort of your living room.

This week’s coloring page features He Xiangyu’s first major work of art, The Cola Project.

The coloring sheet was drawn by artist and museum educator Erik L. Peterson. “He Ziangyu’s A Barrel of Dregs of Coca-Cola, a case that looks like it would be at home in a Natural History museum, made of aluminum and glass, seems to hold a hunk of lava rock or maybe a pile of coal” says Erik. “It is actually Coca-Cola, heated and reduced down to its solid components. I would love to see your cola pile as a wild rainbow or sweet supernatural swirl of wackiness!”
