This week’s coloring page features Lin Tianmiao’s Day-Dreamer.
The coloring sheet was drawn by artist and museum educator Erik L. Peterson. “While making this drawing of Lin Tianmiao’s work, with tight strands of cotton thread stretched between two beds and bedspreads in the form of her body, I was thinking about Maurice Sendak’s two iconic nighttime books, Where the Wild Things Are and In the Night Kitchen, where the bed is a jumping off point for a strange and surreal adventure into worlds beyond,” says Erik. “Lin’s ghostly image is halfway into a dream, and seems to be fixed there, never to return to her body or our world of wakefulness.”
